Overview of the Trip
This year March of the Living UK is taking 300+ people to Poland for five days from Monday 5th April to Friday 9th April 2021. The group will be split over age/background appropriate buses. Each group will have 1 or 2 educators and 1 or 2 bus leaders. We will also be joined by Survivors who will accompany the buses.

Information about the Trip
Flights are booked by March of the Living UK and included in the trip price. The main group flights leave from London, but we also have groups flying from other UK airports. We can include flights from most airports in Europe and Israel in the price. If you are flying from outside of Europe please notify us, you may prefer to fly to London and join our group flight or fly direct to Poland.
In Poland we stay in 4* hotels, 2 nights in Warsaw and 2 nights in Krakow. We try for all groups to stay in the same hotel so if you have family members on different buses you will have some time with them early morning and late evening as meals are usually together.
Room sharing (not relevant for Adult Groups)
Over your stay in Poland you will be grouped in rooms with one or two others in your group. If you did not specify who you wished to room share with we have paired you with another person or persons. Naturally we have tried to do this based on age and bus but sometimes this has not been possible.
All food is kosher on this trip and is shipped from Israel. Breakfast & Dinner are in the hotel and lunch will be packed lunchboxes. If you have any dietary issues we recommend that you bring some of your own food especially for vegans, and those with more specific requirements. Vegetarian options are available but often limited in variety.
Poland in April can be mild but rain is also common. We will try to send forecasts out a few days prior to departure.
Be prepared for all weather eventualities. There is no laundry so make sure you account for wet and muddy conditions. We suggest 2 pairs of comfortable walking shoes (not Uggs and not nice sneakers), Jeans, sweatshirts, fleece’s are all essential. We will be visiting cemeteries, Synagogues and sights of mass murder, men, please have a kippa (head covering) with you.
We will have access to medical staff on site in Poland. If you are on medication, please bring extra as getting supplies in Poland is not a real option.
The local currency is Polish Zloty and is approximately 4.6 to the pound. Everything on this trip is paid for so the only cash you will need is “pocket money”. This may be needed to cover a drink or snack while travelling.
Your preparation for the trip
Each bus will have a preparation session which we would encourage you to join.
This is the opportunity for you to meet others in the group, learn about what to expect from your trip, more information on the trip itself and meet some of your bus leaders and educators.
All participants must have their own health & travel insurance.
Family history research
In preparation for your trip we suggest you do some research in to your own family background, this will make the trip more personal for you. Please share this information with your educators so they can guide you further.
Please find at the end of this information pack a suggested reading list to help you best prepare for your trip to Poland.
Each bus has its own security guard, please do make sure you follow their instructions. The Poland of today is a good friend of Israel and the Jewish people, however, for your complete comfort and safety we will have security presence throughout the trip.
At the end of each day, each group will have the opportunity to process the day. Group processing is a useful tool to reflect on each day, learn others perspectives and feel supported on what may or may not be for you a challenging experience.
